A narrow leaf variety of bluestar, Amsonia tabernaemontana v. salicifolia is slightly taller and a bit happier in partial shade. This compact, long-lived perennial develops lovely yellow fall color. It is easily grown in average, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Best when massed.
