Dennstaedtia punctilobula

Hayscented Fern

This fern produces a fragrance resembling freshly mown hay when crushed or bruised, giving it the common name hayscented fern. Does best in part shade to full shade, but will tolerate full sun if given consistent moisture. Dennstaedtia punctilobula spreads aggressively via rhizomes and forms colonies. Has yellowish-green fronds that turn yellow in the fall.
