Easily grown dry to medium moisture soils that must be well-drained. Prefers full sun, but will succeed in part shade. Tolerates a wide range of soils,  Non-invasive due to low fertility.  Foliage grows 6-8" tall, with flower stems rising 15-20" above from July to August with purple flowers.  Deer and rabbit resistant, but very attractive to butterflies and pollinators.  Voted 2018 Perennial Plant of the Year by The Perennial Plant Association.
